Before starting to read this blog think that you are the
best judge of yourself and you have the right knowledge on the subjects you are familiar with and so you are just
browsing the other blogs/websites just to add a feather to your skills.
The following books are very useful for the UPSC civil services exam preparation
both for mental and subjective preparation.
One should not only read the subjective books, but also should
read about the administration and the personal management. One should at least
read some of these books which are very useful for personality
development. These can come handy at all times.
Regarding preparation,
I strongly say those who are well determined to choose this career
should only start preparing.Others, who think that they can
get through once they start preparation can stop this
preparation if you are not dedicated 100% throughout your journey.
Most of us start preparation with enthusiasm in the
beginning days, but that gets dimmed as the days progress and there will a
stage where one thinks " I can't get this lets go back". By now the
precious time, energy and most importantly the interest was lost.
So i suggest to you friends, only if you are 100 % dedicated and determined both
mentally and physically that "I shall give 18 months of my career
sincerely for Civil Services" should only start the preparation. Success
is yours.
Coaching centers only guide us; there are chances that
they will mislead the right candidate with their teaching practices, so
one should be smart enough to extract the information from the
coaching centers.
Do not join the coaching centers just your friends joined or
that was/is a good coaching center. Join the coaching center where you feel
that the information you are looking for the subject is missing.
PLEASE NOTE:
ANY COACHING CENTER WHICH CONDUCTS EXAMS BUT DOES NOT DISPLAY
RESULTS IS RUNNING ONLY FOR PURE BUSINESS, FOR ITS DEVELOPMENT AND NOT
FOR THE SAKE OF CIVIL SERVICE ASPIRANTS. AN EXAM RESULT (A SMALL OR BIG EXAM)
WILL LET US KNOW WHERE WE STAND IN OUR PREPARATION). WITHOUT KNOWING THAT, ITS
LIKE THROWING AN ARROW IN THE DARK WOODS.
A lot of help you can get now a days from Google and
also during the last phase of your preparation apply/have one or two online
portals where they offer good examination practice.
Candidates who did not have English as the language of their
schooling could read books available in Hindi or their native language. The
essence of the idea is to get acquitted with the habit of reading. Not that you
have to read only these books. The above opinion is purely personal and not to
hurt others sentiments or interests. Everyone has their own understanding and
views.
